5 Best Daily Habits for a Good Self Care Plan
Having an idea for how to make good habits stick is already good in itself. There are many good, daily habits you can implement in your life to help you achieve whatever goals you set your mind to.
When it comes to good daily habits, it would be fair to say that many of them are already directed towards self-care. An exercise routine, a healthy diet, and the occasional warm bath are already quite good daily self-care ideas - but there are far more good habits we can pick up on to strengthen ourselves from the inside out. As we mentioned in our previous blog, working on our mental and emotional health is key for building a strong base for everything else to build on top.
1. Morning Stretches
The first step in a successful self-care plan is to start the day off right. Morning stretches are a great way to get your blood circulation and good energy pumping through your body. Making stretches a daily habit can also improve your flexibility and reduce the chances of muscle pain throughout the day.

2. Morning Meditation and Affirmations
Incorporating daily affirmations and short morning meditations into your daily routine can have a huge impact on inviting positive energy into your day. Making it a habit to see things through a lens of positivity can be truly helpful in the way you manage stress and ensures effective handling of difficult situations you may encounter.
Some of the best essential oils for meditation we like to use are Frankincense, Cedarwood, and Lemon Myrtle. They can help you find inner balance and strengthen the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
3. Keep Your Living and Working Spaces Decluttered and Clean
As Marie Kondo wisely said, “Tidying your physical space allows you to tend to your psychological space”. Clearing the spaces you live and work in is extremely helpful for keeping your mind decluttered and making it easier for you to either get things done or get a proper, well-deserved rest mind after a busy day.
Make it part of your daily self-care plan to take 10 minutes to clear off anything that’s out of order, and notice an improvement on your mood, productivity, and focus. While you’re at it, we recommend diffusing Sweet Orange, Eucalyptus, or Grapefruit. These are some of the best essential oils for energy so after you’re done, you’ll be ready to dive into whatever tasks you have for the day.

4. Schedule Your Breaks!
One of the best good habits you should definitely include in your routine is scheduling in your breaks. Usually, we tend to schedule in our meetings, tasks, and lunchtimes for the day. But reserving dedicated time to take breaks between work is just as important. Taking 10 or 15 minutes to decompress your mind and keep yourself energized will not only make you more productive, but it's these small self-care rituals that will keep you afloat and reduce your stress levels.
To boost your energy after a break, using something like the Energising Body Mist or like the Mental Clarity Natural Perfume can help you bounce back and alleviate any tensions and overwhelming feelings. They include oils like Lemon Myrtle, Peppermint, and Frankincense; among the best essential oils for focus and feeling invigorated.
5. Pre-Bedtime Massage
Some of the most common self-care ideas when it comes to getting a good night's sleep tend to be about finding the time to wind down, shut off electronics, and dim your lighting. These are all good habits to take note of, but we’d like to add a new one to the list.
Before you head off to sleep, dedicate 10 minutes to give yourself a full body massage with essential oils. Whether they’re blended with a carrier oil of your choice or with one of our own like Treat Yourself or Yoga Shanti, creating a moment of mindful nurturing to your body is just about the ultimate form of self-care strategies that will help you reconnect with your spirit, comfort any feelings of concern or worry, and prepare you for a long night of rest.
Practicing daily self-care habits can truly make a difference in your wellbeing by uplifting your mood, and maintaining positive energy around you. According to psychologist Wendy Wood, the best way to make good habits stick is through repeated behaviors - so don’t get too intimidated by creating a self-care plan. Eventually, you’ll practice them without thinking, which is ultimately the kind muscle memory scale we need to keep good habits!
